BAT TRANG
In this project, I created the visualisations for a famous Vietnamese pottery and ceramic village, with an emphasis on a website landing page and some related branding materials.
Bat Trang is one of the most popular pottery and ceramic villages in Vietnam. However, there is not enough attention to marketing and advertising and their own website was very outdated at the time I decided to start this project. This made me thinking a lot about our wasted potentials and how better designs could come in to help spreading the values of this traditional art to more global tourists.
I tried a different grid system here compared to the other project, which is less rigid due to the absence of lines diving or shaping different parts. I gave attention to hierarchy and how information is displayed along the page. I also experimented with more curves and round corners, in contrast to a sharp and bold typeface.
This project was very interesting since it was from my culture but developed under a new perspective. It was also very insightful researching about the village and different aspects of this traditional art, which helped me deciding on selecting which elements to represent in my designs.
